Welcome

Thanks for visiting my webpage. I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. My advisor is Dr. Daniel D. Lee . My main research interest is sparse learning, which is to discover sparse structures in different kinds of data (such as acoustic signals, images, graphic models, and so on).

I obtained my M.S. degree in optical engineering from Tsinghua University (China) in 1999. During 2000~2002, I worked with Dr. Britton Chance in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of Pennsylvania, developing near-infrared (NIR) biomedical optical imagers.

What is new:

12/15/2007: The slides presented at NIPS are now available.

10/28/2007: At WASPAA 2007 (Oct. 21~24), we had an oral presenation about TDOA estimation. We also had a demo session that showed more examples about TDOA estimation and a preview of our NIPS paper about speech dereverberation. Here are the slides, videos, and sound examples.

09/10/2007: Our NIPS submission was accpeted for an oral presentation. Here is the paper.
