Where I'm From/Ethnicity: Half Dominican, half Puerto Rican. Born in NYC, but moved to NJ when I was young.
Goals: Finish college and go to graduate school. Be happy and give
back to the community.
Why I am in SHPE:I'm in SHPE not only to meet other people who share my interests, but to give back to the community and promote Latinos in the professional world. SHPE is a great resource not only in the
academic sense, but also allows me to make a difference culturally on campus.

Goals: Become an astronaut (really).
Why I am in SHPE: I'm in SHPE because of the wonderful oppurtunities and challenges that are available to me in this group. I'm in SHPE because I want to stay in touch with the Latino community, both local and national, and I love the lasting friendships that I have made.

Where I'm From/Ethnicity: Mexican. Born in Mexico City, moved around Mexico until I was three. Raised in Chicago
Goals: Complete College and make my parents' sacrifice worth it. To further myself and further Mexicans and Chicanos.
Why I am in SHPE: As a Freshman, I got recruited and enjoyed my experience as an Electrical Engineer. However, incidents during the summer made me think about life and lead to a decision to pursue an
economic career. However, I greatly enjoyed my experience at SHPE and will continue to be dedicated to it. It is a great resource not only for hispanic engineers but for all students in general. It has a family feel and each member wants to make each other better.

Goals: Have a good time and do well in college.
Why I am in SHPE: As a hispanic engineer, SHPE is a great place for me to meet people in the same situation. SHPE also has excellent resources for finding internships and careers.
