Presenting... the birth of a grill.

As a fraternity, brotherhood is critical. To strengthen the bonds of our members, we decided to build a grill out of a 55-gallon food-grade barrel. We based our design off of others that we found online, modifying it where appropriate for our situation. Then we broke out the tools and got to work. Here we, have captured the process in progress.

Our grill started off with a humble beginning as a (blue!) 55-gallon food-grade barrel.

Later cleaned and prepared for a grand transformation, the barrel braced itself for the first step towards grill-hood. With the whirr of a saw, the barrel ceased to exist.

Lo and behold! The body of a grill and its lid.

From then on, there was no turning back.

There was measuring...

Inside work...

And outside work...

BUT WAIT! What's a grill without a stand?

Meanwhile...

There was also planning...

Followed by sawing...

And hammering.

...Back to the grill...

The grill was looking good so far!

It was all coming together nicely (not to say that there weren't any bumps along the way later on)...

But at least these engineers didn't starve at the end of a hard day's work. There it was...

The finished grill.
