Bioinformatics
Bioinformatics focuses on the analysis and management of data generated by high-throughput techniques in genomics, molecular and cellular biology. The ultimate goal is to integrate all levels of information, including the genome sequence, the state of the cell (e.g., transcriptome and the proteome) and the phenotype. Bioinformatics brings together biologists, computer scientists and mathematicians to enhance our understanding of the contributions of biological complexity, population variability, and multi-scale interactions in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.
