CSP™ Apprentice Program

How the CSP™ Program works:

The CSP™ Apprentice Program offers additional hands-on experience in:

  • Conducting a consultation – job shadow an experienced stager to learn how to deliver the message and learn the language to use for your own consultations
  • Selecting furniture and accessory rental options for staging a vacant property
  • Completing a client bid/proposal for staging a vacant property
  • Hands-on experience helping to stage a lived in property – gain experience of how to manage a staging project when the homeowners are still in residence
  • Hands-on experience helping to stage a vacant property
  • Work as part of a larger staging crew completing a “clean-sweep” project
  • Visit a Realtor™ presentation and learn what concepts should be presented in limited time frames

Commitments from the CSP™ Graduate:

  • Complete the CSP™ Apprentice Program participant agreement
  • The CSP™ Apprentice Program is an optional program. You may sign up at any time to participate and you may decide to remove yourself from the program at any time.
  • The CSP™ ApprenticeProgram is designed as an opportunity for you to learn directly from a Mentor who owns and manages their own staging business.
  • Search the Apprentice Forum regularly for Apprentice Program opportunities – mentors will be posting new staging projects on a regular basis
  • The opportunity to job shadow is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are not selected to attend a specific job, please do not worry, other staging opportunities are always available and will be posted regularly.
  • This program is based on a non-payment schedule. You are donating your time in exchange for the opportunity to learn and be involved. You will not be paid for your labour while participating in the CSP™ Apprentice Program.
  • Complete 2 assessment documents at the end of each staging project. The first document is an assessment for yourself and will help identify what you have learned and what you still need to learn. The second document is an assessment of your Mentor. Both forms are submitted on line on the forum.
  • The Mentors who you work with will have the opportunity to assess your skills and verbal feedback will be provided back to you while on the project, as well as make their assessment available to the rest of the Mentors.
  • Please be advised that on every staging project that you attend, the Mentor will be the “lead” stager and will have the direct relationship with the homeseller and/or Realtor.  The Mentor will task out responsibilities and will handle any specific questions or concerns during a staging project with the homeseller and/or Realtor on behalf of the staging crew.
  • It is customary that when any stager works for another stager, the assisting stager agrees not to directly solicit business from the home seller and/or Realtor. We ask that you do not distribute any brochures or business cards while you are assisting a Mentor on a staging project or use any relationship gained to promote your own business.
  • Please be aware that your Mentor is first and foremost an independent business owner. Therefore, their first priority on each and every staging project is to maintain focus on servicing their client and achieving the desired end result. With that in mind, we ask that each Mentor when working with a CSP™ graduate, be available and on site at each staging project where a CSP™ graduate is participating. We want to ensure that each CSP™ graduate can be guided by a supervising Mentor and freely ask questions in order enhance your learning experience
