Dual Degree Program
A dual degree program is followed by a student in two different
schools within the University, such as the School of Engineering
and the School of Arts & Sciences. Students must follow
an approved major in each school, such as Bioengineering and
Chemistry or Bioengineering and one of the Wharton School business
majors. To qualify, students must apply and be admitted to both
schools. Because of different school course requirements or
distributional requirements, some programs may take more than
four years, require a heavier course load (subject to academic
standing, students may be permitted to take up to 7 courses
per semester) or summer courses. However, there is significant
opportunity for double counting of requirements, and using required
courses in one program as electives in the other. The requirements
for each degree can be found in the respective departmental
internet site. Both BAS and BSE Bioengineering students can
be in a dual degree program with another school.
