Submatriculation
Qualified students may be permitted to begin a graduate program
towards the MSE degree while still completing their undergraduate
program. Submatriculation into the MSE in Bioengineering is
open to Bioengineering BSE students with GPA higher than 3.5.
This MSE program is available only to current Bioengineering
Undergraduate BSE students. Submatriculants may double count
up to 3 courses towards both their BSE and MSE. No graduate
courses taken prior to being accepted into the submatriculation
program may be counted toward the master’s degree.
School regulations allow only candidates for
the BSE degree to apply for submatriculation in the Master of
Science in Engineering (MSE) program. However, subject to the
same GPA criterion, BSE and BAS students may submatriculate
into the M.B. program in Biotechnology
and should refer to that program for details.
Interested students should inform and consult the Bioengineering
Undergraduate and Graduate Chairs and file the proper paperwork
in the Office of Academic Programs. Application into any submatriculation
program can be made between the end of the sophomore year and
the end of the junior year.
Following are guidelines for fulfilling the requirements for
submatriculating into the MSE degree in Bioengineering. A total
of 10 course units is required. Up to 2 course units of MSE
research is allowed in lieu of other requirements as specified
in the table below.
