Meetingmaker 8.6 Palm Sync Instructions

 

1. Meeting Maker Palm sync software requires a separate installation once Meeting Maker 8.6 client software has been installed. The Palm sync installers can be downloaded here:

  2. The first window asks which conduits to install. Unless you also use meetingmaker to sync with the Palm Address Book, unselect all but the Date Book Conduit as shown in Fig. 1 (the meeting maker Address book is not fully compatible with the Palm Address book, therefore Most people do not use it.).

3. The setup program will then install the new Meetingmaker and ask you if you would like to have HotSync Manager restarted. click "Yes".
   
  4. click "Next" on the next window, then de-select all but the "Launch the meetingmaker Application" boxes, and click "Finish",as shown in Fig. 2.

5. Meetingmaker 8.6 is now installed on your Computer. Enter your password to start the program.
   
DO NOT SYNC WITH YOUR PALM YET!
   
  6. Click on the HotSync Manager icon in the system tray and select "Custom…" from the pop up menu. Highlight "meetingmaker Datebook" (Fig.3) and click on "Change…". Under "Upgrade Action" Change the setting to "meetingmaker overwrites all items" click "Ok" then click "Done".

  7. Now you may sync your palm handheld with meetingmaker.  
         
  8. After the sync, go back to the HotSync Manager icon in the system tray and select "Custom…" from the pop up menu. Highlight "meetingmaker Datebook" and click on "Change…". Under "Upgrade Action" Change the setting to "Do Nothing" click "Ok" then click "Done".  
         
  9. You are finished. Happy Syncing!
