Mounting your SEAS home directory on a Windows machine

From a Windows Machine that CETS does not manage (using the command line)

SSHFS

The SSHFS project allows mounting of remote directories over SSH. It can be used on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

Install sshfs by downloading from the project website. Your settings should look like the following:

Make sure to change gmkowie to your own PennKey.

Remote Samba mount in Windows

  1. Go to your Start Menu, Click Run, type: cmd
  2. Enter the following command, where username is your SEAS username:
  3. net use s: \\smb.seas.upenn.edu\username /user:username *
  4. You'll be prompted for your SEAS password.

From a CETS-managed Windows Machine (using the command line)

  1. Go to your Start Menu, Click Run, type: cmd
  2. Enter the following command, where username is your SEAS username:
  3. net use s: \\base\root\homedir /persistent:yes
