How can I avoid having my mail blocked by spam filters?

  1. Minimize the use of large fonts, colored fonts or ALL CAPS, including in your signature file. All of these raise your spam score.
  2. Use a specific, descriptive subject. Vague subjects like URGENT ASSISTANCE NEEDED!!! may raise your spam score, along with common spam keywords like confidential, assistance, business, attention, reply, response, or help.
  3. Do not send attachments of the file types listed in Sending Prohibited Attachments. These types can be dangerous and are often blocked.

Note: If you notice legitimate email being marked as spam, please contact CETS so we can help resolve the issue.
