MSDN Academic Alliance Information

ISO CD Image

The Windows operating system CDs are distributed as ISO images. Students are permitted to use these images to create a single copy of the CD for personal use only.

Your CD burning software should have an option to burn a CD from an ISO image file. You may also use the CETS labs to create CDs. The newer lab pc's are equipped with CD burners and Roxio Easy CD Creator software.

Follow these steps to burn an ISO image to CD using Easy CD Creator:

  1. Click on the Roxio Project Selector in the system tray.
  2. Click on "Make a Data CD" and then "DataCD Project". This will launch Easy CD Creator.
  3. Under File, select "Record CD from Image".
  4. Change the "Files of type" option to "ISO Image Files".
  5. Go the directory where you downloaded the ISO image and select the file.
  6. Insert your blank CD-R into the CDR drive and click "Start Recording".
