First, thank you to all of those who've already expressed an interest in working for CETS! Since so many of you seem to have similar questions, here's a quick FAQ about working for CETS.

Q: When is the deadline for applications?
A: Tuesday, August 1st, 2017

Q: Can I still apply for a position even if I don't have a workstudy award?
A: CETS only hires workstudy students.

Q: Can I have more than one work study job?
A: Yes. Workstudy students at Penn can work more than one job. While most of our students prefer to work solely for CETS, they do have the option of working elsewhere as well.

Q: What are the job responsibilities and duties:

A: Assist CETS with providing technical support to the students, staff, and faculty of Penn Engineering. Staff help desk; respond to inquiries in person and over the phone; manage ticketing system, escalate complex issues to the appropriate team, assist with wifi access on devices, computer usage, printing; handle av equipment loans; troubleshoot problems with lab computers and peripheral equipment; assist with account creation and maintenance; monitor activities and conditions in computer labs; receive deliveries; perform general office tasks and other duties as assigned.

Q: How many hours per week can I work?
A: Workstudy students can work up to 20 hours total per week.

Q: What is the minimum number of hours I can work per week for CETS?
A: Five.

Q: Can I still apply for the CETS job, even if I accepted a position elsewhere?
A: Yes. In fact, many students often do. This is understandable considering they may have accepted a position elsewhere before knowing what else was available.

Q: If it turns out I don't like my job, can I apply with CETS?
A: While we understand how frustrating it can be to realize you've made the wrong job choice, we are unable to hold any slots open. However, if you apply before August 1st, 2017, we'll be happy to consider your application.

Q: What is your turn over rate?
A: CETS boasts one of the best retention rates on campus. Most of our students stay with us throughout their college career.

Q: Tell me more about the growth opportunities.
A: CETS has been a campus leader in giving students real jobs with real responsibility for over a decade. Since we are a full service computing organization that only promotes from within, our students are given opportunities to explore many different areas of computing.

Q: What are the hours like?
A: We're open Monday thru Thursday from 8:30 to 9:00pm, Friday 8:30-5:00

As you can see we have no Friday night or weekend hours.
