NOTE: The main University Commencement ceremony will have heightened security because Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. is the speaker. Here is a helpful FAQ for those planning to attend.

Information in the case of inclement weather

Undergraduate Ceremony

  • Lunch for all graduates and their guests will be hosted by the degree-granting department immediately following the University's Commencement Ceremony until 1:45 p.m. Informational letters will be mailed to all parents regarding the specific location of your department's luncheon.
  • Seating for the Penn Engineering Ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the southeast entrance to Franklin Field (corner of South Street and Convention Avenue).
  • No tickets are required for the ceremony, and there is no limit to the number of guests per student.

Ph.D. & Master's Ceremony

  • Seating for the Penn Engineering Ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the southeast entrance to Franklin Field (corner of South Street and Convention Avenue).
  • All guests are welcome, no tickets are required.
