2017 Graduation Ceremony Information

Reserved seating for guests who use wheelchairs and those with limited physical mobility or medical conditions will be available for all Penn Engineering ceremonies. For guests with special access and/or seating needs, please see Accessibility Information.

Undergraduate Ceremony - Saturday, May 13

  • Prior to the Penn Engineering undergraduate commencement ceremony, our 2017 bachelor’s graduates and their attending guests are invited to join us for lunch in the Engineering complex. Our undergraduate degree programs will be divided into into six luncheon locations and invitations to the luncheon (with location details) will be mailed to the gradute's permanent address on file. We will offer meals at each location meeting the dietary restrictions for kosher, gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian attendees.
  • Lunch will be hosted from 12:30-2:00 p.m.
  • Doors to The Palestra for the graduation ceremony will open at 2:00 p.m. for guest seating. The ceremony starts at 2:30 p.m.
  • No tickets are required for the ceremony, and there is no limit to the number of guests per student.

Master's Ceremony - Friday, May 12

  • Prior to the Master’s commencement ceremony, our 2017 Master’s graduates and their attending guests are invited to join us for a reception in the Engineering complex. Our Master’s programs will be divided into six reception locations and we will offer food at each location meeting the dietary restrictions for kosher, gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian attendees.  Invitations to the reception (with location details) will be emailed to the Master’s graduates directly. 
  • The receptions will be hosted from 1:30-3:00 p.m.
  • Doors to The Palestra will open at 3:00 p.m. for guest seating. The ceremony starts at 3:30 p.m.
  • No tickets are required for the ceremony, and there is no limit to the number of guests per student.

Ph.D. Ceremony - Thursday, May 11

  • Doors to Irvine Auditorium will open at 3:00 p.m. for guest seating. The ceremony starts at 3:30 p.m.
  • Following the Ph.D. commencement ceremony, the Dean and faculty of Penn Engineering will host a reception for the Ph.D. graduates and their guests.
  • No tickets are required for the ceremony, and there is no limit to the number of guests per student.
