You are the newest members of the Penn community. Below are some links that you may find useful.
New Student Orientation (NSO)
Here is a complete and latest list of all Engineering NSO Events. Please check back frequently. Note that all SEAS NSO events are mandatory.
Penn NSO
Check out the Penn NSO Website for all events during NSO (Thursday, August 28, 2008-Tuesday, September 2, 2008). The site will be updated throughout the summer so check back frequently.
Academic Advising
Faculty Advisors
You will find out who your faculty advisor is during the Dean's Meeting on Friday, August 29, 2008. There will be office hours held on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 where you will be able to meet your faculty advisor.
Undergraduate Coordinators
Most questions that you may have will be answered in the Freshman Guidebook. If you cannot find the information you need, you may contact the Undergraduate Coordinators for your appropriate major.
Professional Advisors
Advisors in the Office of Academic Programs (APO) are available to assist you during normal business hours in whatever way they can. Walk-In Advising during the Summer are as follows:

Peer Advising
The Orientation Peer Advisors (OPA!) are ready to take your questions about what it's like to be an engineering student, or any other general questions you might have. You should be receiving a letter or email from your assigned OPA! by the time you arrive on campus.

PennKey and SEAS Email Account Creation
If you have not registered for a PennKey and SEAS Email through Campus Express, do so as soon as possible. Follow the instructions on Campus Express. Once you have created your PennKey and password you can create a SEAS email account. You can do so online by following the directions on How to Create a SEAS Account.

Penn InTouch is the student's primary contact with the Office of the Registrar and other student services. You can register for classes, check the status of your financial aid, and access a copy of your unofficial transcript.

New for the Class of 2012, the Advancing Women in Engineering Program (AWE) is offering a pre-orientation program for incoming women engineers August 24-28th. You'll get to move in early, meet your fellow women engineers, get advice from upperclass students and meet faculty before regular new student orientation begins! Registration closes on July 11th. Check out http://www.seas.upenn.edu/~awe/AWEPre-orientation.htm for more information and on-line registration.
Instructions for Changing Your Major
The major you selected on your application to Penn is on the postcard that is included in this mailing. If it is incorrect, if you would like to change your major, or if you would like to declare a major, please email the following information with “Major Correction” as the subject, to apo@seas.upenn.edu:
1. Full Name
2. Last four digits of your Social Security Number
3. Correct Engineering Major
The deadline to change/declare a major is Friday, July 26, 2008. Please note that you may not change your major to CD, M&T, or DMD.
