Celebrating Twenty Years of Leadership
EMTM was the first U.S. graduate program of its kind to combine the study of emerging technologies with modern management principles and strategy. Now celebrating our 20th year, we salute our more than 800 graduates –scientists, technologists, consultants, executive, and entrepreneurs – who are leading innovation in the technology-intensive global economy of the 21st century.
Over the next two years in celebration of this milestone, EMTM will be hosting a series of special events under the rubric Future Space: the intersection of technology and the social sciences. Information on this series will be forthcoming.
The "network effects" of EMTM amplify the power of the experience throughout your career. You are connected to an outstanding group of classmates, a diverse set of accomplished alumni across many industries, and the global alumni networks of Penn Engineering, Wharton and the University of Pennsylvania.
Staying Informed / Keeping Connected
Each year, EMTM hosts alumni events designed to build on the EMTM experience with new insights into emerging technology issues. It's also a chance to reconnect and network with former classmates and other alumni. Recent workshops and seminars have focused on: "Rightsourcing Services: Make, Migrate or Outsource," "Molecular Diagnostics & New Models for Personalized Medicine" and "4th Generation Wireless Networks."
EMTM alumni also have continued access to EMTM knowledge and learning in class, as well, through course offerings made available each term on a full-credit basis. See "Second Helpings: EMTM Alums Return for More."
Throughout the year, EMTM alumni are alerted by e-mail with information about conferences, speakers and other events of special interest taking place on campus.
EMTM Networks
EMTM alumni number more than 700, and are located in all parts of the U.S., in Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. In addition to the contacts and connections you make on an individual basis, regional chapters provide a forum for socializing and networking with fellow alumni and for continued learning from Penn Engineering and Wharton professors and other guest experts. The alumni-managed website, launched and managed by the EMTM Alumni Council, contains news on regional events. See www.emtmalumni.org.

“It was an unbelievable learning experience to be surrounded by so many bright people from so many different backgrounds. Since graduating, being involved with alumni has kept me in touch with the concepts and ideals of the program as well as successful people who have graduated before and after me. I look on them as my lifeline.”
