New Seminar Stays Ahead of the Innovation Curve

December 10, 2003 — Students joining Penn's Executive Master's in Technology Management (EMTM) program this fall discovered a new resource to keep up with emerging technologies and trends.

Supplementing EMTM's established technology and management curriculum, the Emerging Technologies Seminar series brings experts from throughout Penn's academic and research community to share insights on emerging discoveries and trends in research and business. Required for first-year students and open to all EMTM students, the seminars take place during evening or lunch-time sessions on program weekends. An expert from a different field meets with students each weekend.

From exploring the latest advances in drug discoveries, to examining how the nanotechnology revolution might change the technology landscape across economic sectors, to assessing strategies for companies to tip the "opportunity/risk" balance in favor of opportunity — these seminars are designed to inform EMTM students about emerging technologies and help them anticipate the implications for their own industries and organizations.
