Adaptability for Full and Part-time Students
Designed
for full-time students, working professionals and part-time students,
the program thrives from the interaction of students from diverse
backgrounds. Penn appreciates how the practical experience of working
professionals enriches the classroom, and recognizes the challenge
these students undertake balancing work and school.
If you are already working, several class-scheduling features can
help you maintain your daytime occupation while advancing your career
through study. These features include:
- Grouping of required classes to limit the time
you need to take off from your work. Most semesters, core courses
are taught two days a week from 1:30PM to 7:30PM, with many courses
in the late afternoons and evenings.
- Ability to incorporate a current work project into a
thesis. Though writing a thesis is not required, if you
already have a telecommunications-related career, a thesis provides
a good way to combine academic and practical learning, particularly
during the summer semester. A thesis counts for two course units
of credit and requires a faculty advisor.
