
SIBT Applicant Procedure
Instructions: There are two ways of applying to the SIBT Program.
(1) To submit your application online, please follow steps 1, 2,
and 3 below. (2) To mail your application in, download
the full application and mail to the address at the bottom of
this page.
* Please make check for $75.00 USD processing fee payable to "The
Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania." Checks must be
drawn on a bank account in the United States or by International
Postal Money Order.
Step 1
Complete the SIBT application form online
There is a section of the online form to upload* your Statement
of Interest Essay. In your essay, address the following:
- Why would you like to participate in SIBT?
- What specific goals do you hope to achieve in attending SIBT?
- What leaderships, attributes, or perspectives will you bring
with you to make a contribution to the SIBT program?
- What is your career goal upon graduation from university? How
about 10 years from now?
*The only accepted file formats for uploading are PDF(.pdf) and
Text (.txt). Please include your full name in the file name of your
essay. For example, if your name is John A. Smith, your essay should
be named, john_a_smith_essay.pdf.

Step 2
Download the following two application materials that need to
be mailed in (see mailing address at bottom of this page)
To ensure prompt delivery of your application materials, please
use a mail delivery service, such as UPS, DHL, or Federal Express.

Step 3
In addition, mail in the following:
- Official university transcript
- Official test score reports, including TOEFL

decisions will be made on a rolling basis, and applicants will be
