Recovery Act: NIST Measurement Science and Engineering Research Grants Program March 23, 2009 The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology, announces the availability of up to $35 million to award approximately 20-60 grants and cooperative agreements in support of measurement science and engineering research as part of NIST's activities through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act). Proposals will be considered that address measurement science and engineering research needs in areas of national importance. These areas of national importance are energy, environment and climate change, information technology/cybersecurity, biosciences/healthcare, manufacturing, and physical infrastructure. These grants will support NIST's mission to promote U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology in ways that enhance economic security and improve our quality of life.
