Introduction

The School of Engineering and Applied Science offers countless academic opportunities and research experiences in the classrooms and laboratories for our undergraduate students to pursue. Penn Engineering is committed to developing innovative environs to challenge our students and cultivate the building of strong relationships between students and their peers, as well as students and their faculty.

The faculty advisor is an invaluable resource for helping students identify their educational goals and planning their academic careers. Every Penn Engineering undergraduate is assigned a faculty advisor with whom he or she is required to meet at regular intervals. Students who limit their contact with their advisors limit the depth of their academic experience. A faculty advisor can help a student identify exciting possibilities and create new avenues of intellectual exploration, but the student remains responsible for directing and following its path.
