Joint Degrees

All joint degrees with the BSE require a minimum of 46 cu. Those with the 36 cu BAS require a minimum of 40 cu; those dual dgerees with the 40 cu BAS require a minimum or 46 cu total.

Management and Technology

Students enrolled in the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology pursue the requirements for the BSEcon degree from the Wharton School and either the BAS or the BSE from Penn Engineering. Applicants for this program need a minimum gpa of 3.4 for consideration. Students in the Joint and dual degree program with Wharton must satisfy their statistics requirement using either ESE 301/302 or STAT 430/431.

Computer and Cognitive Science

This program combines either the BAS or the BSE from Penn Engineering with a BA from the College of Arts and Sciences in Mathematics, Linguistics, Psychology, Philosophy, or Biological Basis of Behavior.

Cognitive Science is a cross-disciplinary, inter-school subject associated with the Institute for Research in Cognitive Science, the Department of Computer and Information Science in Penn Engineering, and the departments of Linguistics, Mathematics, Philosophy, and Psychology in SAS. It applies approaches from all of thes disciplines to the study of the mind and mental information processing. The student must satisfy the course requirements for both degrees; with a BAS the dual degree usually takes four years (with a minimum of 40 cu), and with a BSE it normally takes five years (minimum 46 cu). A 3.0 cumulative gpa is required for admission to this program. Additional information
