Second Majors

BSE students interested in math or biochemistry may find the second major an attractive alternative to the dual degree. Qualified SEAS students may pursue a second major in either math or biochemistry. It is important to note that this program results in a single degree (the BSE) with two majors. Students must satisfy the degree requirements for both their BSE curriculum and those of the second major. (BAS students are not permitted to dual major.)

Students seeking admission to the second major must have earned at least a 3.0 cumulative gpa. To apply, start with the Change of Curriculum form available in 111 Towne or on-line in pdf format. You should then meet with the undergraduate chair of the department offering the second major to work out the details of the requirements.

Some BSE students may wish to consider a second major in either mathematics or biochemistry.
