Requirement to Withdraw

A student on probation who continues to do unsatisfactory work will be dropped. A student who is dropped ends his or her affiliation with the University.

In certain situations (for example, extenuating circumstances unknown to the Academic Performance Committee or significant positive changes in the student's academic record, etc.), the student may appeal the drop decision in writing to the Office of Academic Programs. The appeal should include a clear statement of the case for its approval. Courses taken elsewhere while on drop status may not be transferred into Penn.
