IDC/Penn Engineering Israel Exchange Program

The Interdisciplinary Center/Penn exchange is a wonderful experience to have after your sophomore or junior year. You will spend approximately 12 weeks learning about Israel and experiencing the country while interning for an industry-leading company or at IDC itself. You will live in a suburb of Tel-Aviv, and housing will be arranged for you with the other students on the exchange. Airfare and a generous living stipend will also be provided.

The exchange gives you the opportunity to have a high-tech internship while experiencing Israel and its culture. You will work for five days a week, but you will have the weekends completely open to travel about, see the region, or unwind in a religious atmosphere.

Past exchange students have traveled to both the northern and southern regions of Israel, Jerusalem, Cairo, Sinai Desert, and Jordan. Nighttime activities of the past students consisted of traveling into Tel-Aviv or nearby Herzalia, and relaxing on the smooth sand beaches.

Having international work experience on your resume is very attractive to companies, thus making this exchange extremely valuable.

Your time is Israel will be a good working experience, educational, and meaningful. No prior Hebrew language experience necessary.
