The Harold Pender Award
The Harold Pender Award is given by the Faculty of the Moore School to an
outstanding member of the engineering profession who has achieved
distinction by significant contributions to society. The Pender Award is
the School's highest honor and is celebrated with a guest lecture by the
honoree and a reception.
This year, we honor Jack St. Clair Kilby for his part in the invention of
the integrated circuit, or microchip, that made possible the development of
the modern computer.
The Harold Pender Lecture, "Invention of the Integrated Circuit," by Jack
St. Clair Kilby, will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at 4:30 p.m. in
Heilmeier Hall, Towne Building. A reception will follow.
