Tele-immersion at GRASP Makes the News
The work of the GRASP team and a quote by Konstantinos Daniilidis of CIS was featured in recent publications. Tele-immersion involves using 3D technology to "allow people in different parts of the world to submerge themselves in one another's presence and feel as if they are sharing the same physical space," as discussed in New Scientist magazine on August 21, 2000.
This work was also featured in MIT Tech Review Magazine Oct. 2000.
and in Software Development Magazine Aug. 2000.
For more information about tele-immersion see the website of the National Tele-Immersion Initiative.
