I am generally interested in the design and development of efficient and implementable network protocols. My current research broadly speaking focuses on design of optimal, reliable, and implementable network protocols as well as the development of diagnostic tools for data center networks. Easy to deploy protocols are something that has been somewhat neglected in the past. Issues like scalability, and focus on the theoretical optimality of protocol design (without considering their implication in practice), have left behind a huge pool of useless/impractical networking protocols. It so seems that blindly generating protocols for immediate needs may not be the right way of approaching modern day issues with the internet anymore. The hope is that by correct analysis and study of developing protocols this problem can be avoided in the future. If you are interested in a more detailed description of my current and previous research, you can find them in projects.
