The Stephenson Foundation Undergraduate Laboratory, located in 225 Skirkanich Hall, is the primary teaching lab for the Department of Bioengineering.

Making use of an innovative "discovery-based" approach to learning, students learn to define their own experiments as well as to re-evaluate their techniques and goals in order to answer the questions that they formulate themselves.

Bioengineering labs involve such variety as the designing and building of electrical circuits, dissections, mechanics and chemistry.
