Research Interests:
My current work involves using atomic force microscopy (AFM) to examine friction inside wear scars on thin, hard carbon films. The purpose of this work is to better understand how friction and tip-surface adhesion as measured by the AFM are related to the local surface chemistry and topography inside worn regions of the films. This work complements an ongoing project by Andy Konicek, who is my current research mentor. |
