Research Interests:

My present work focuses on characterizing ultrananocrystalline diamond films grown at a low temperature in relation to their application in high frequency resonators. I study the intrinsic dissipation and stiffness of ultrananocrystalline diamond microresonators at cryogenic temperatures. Intrinsic dissipation in these microresonators arises from the presence of defects in grain boundaries which move from one state to another under stress. Relaxation times for such transitions critically depend on the type of defects and temperature. My aim is to characterize the nature of these defect transitions at lower temperatures.
