CIS121 Regrade Policy

To the best of our abilities, we grade all the homeworks consistently with one another.

To ensure that your grades are fair, regrade credit must be doled out carefully. There are certain types of requests for which we can not give credit. Therefore please be clear and concise when explaining your reason for a regrade request.

Ungrantable Requests

Policy Complaints

If a student feels that the grading policy on a particular assignment is unfair, we cannot give that student credit because it would be unfair to the other students whose homeworks were graded under the same policy.

Retroactive Partial Credit

Graders give out partial credit as consistently as they are able, and we rotate the graders each week. Requests for more partial credit for an unworking solution cannot be granted because this would ruin the consistency with which partial credit is given.

Grantable Requests

Almost all grantable requests involve an error on the part of the grader or the grading coordinator.

Grader Mistakes

Once in a while a grader makes a mistake when grading a homework, such as grading the wrong file, taking off the wrong number of points, or some similar oversight. These types of requests will usually be granted.

Other Requests

Other requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
