Iulian Hi,

I direct the Wolf Nanofabrication Facility at the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining Penn (November 2007) I was a Research Physicist at Elsicon, Inc. in Newark, DE. While there I worked on miniature optical gyroscopes (in collaboration with the University of Delaware) and on the optical alignment of liquid crystals.

For my dissertation (Optics, CREOL at University of Central Florida, 2001) I worked on antenna-coupled infrared detectors; Prof. Glenn Boreman was my adviser and I did my fabrication "apprenticeship" at the Cornell NanoScale Science & Technology Facility. I earned a B.S. in Physics from the "A. I. Cuza" University (Iasi, Romania) in 1996.
