All characters in Kingdom, players and NPCs alike, are actors that interact with each other and the world around them.

Non-player characters live their own lives through the use of adaptive artificial intelligence. We imbued characters with an expanded set of characteristics, and allowed them to have needs and wants that drove their actions. This allows for a virtual world that is active and changing, as are a player's interaction with the NPCs around him or her. As an actor, our NPCs interact with each other and the environment. They eat, drink, and work, actions which take an actual toll on their environment.

Having all characters be actors in the world, regardless of their status as player or non-player, is the ultimate goal of this project.
