EAS 285
Teaching Computer Science Basics, a service learning course
Prerequisite: cis110 or cis120 or instructor permission
2011 Summer Session 1:
    Weeks 1-5: Tuesday/Thursday 10:30am-12pm
    Week 6 (June 27 - July 1): We host a computing camp for high school students Mon-Fri 10am-3pm
    We understand that all students won't be able to attend all camp hours

  • BREAK OUT of the ivory tower and connect with the neighborhood
  • LEARN more about CS through teaching
  • GAIN technical skills
  • CONSTRUCT new learning materials
  • TEACH high school students topics including:
    • Java and/or Python
    • Animation and digital storytelling with Scratch
    • Unplugged CS
    • Computational textiles
  • ENGAGE in computer science education research
