My research focuses on precise polyethylenes, linear polyethylenes with pendant polar functional groups located at precise intervals along the backbone. I have shown that these polymers form unique and intriguing crystal structures that contain pathways for ion transport. My work includes extensive morphological characterization, from the angstrom scale to the micron scale, and characterizing ion conductivity and thermal properties of precise polyethylenes.
