Software developed by the research group of (Suresh) G. K. Ananthasuresh

  1. PennSyn: University of Pennsylvania Synthesis software for complaint mechanism
  2. MemSim: Voxel-based geometric modeler for MEMS
  3. Skeletal shape optimization of compliant mechanisms
  4. PennFemLab: A suite of Matlab scripts for finite element analysis Send e-mail if you are interested in any of the above Matlab scripts.
PennSyn 1.0 is implemented in Matlab 5.3 (release 11). It has an easy-to-use menu with help buttons for each step. It generates compliant topologies, animates the resulting motion, creates an IGES file of the solution, and stores the solution for later use. Please send e-mail if you are interested in PennSyn.

MemSim 0.91 is a work-in-progress software for the geometric design of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS). It is a heterogeneous voxel-based geometric modeler implemented in Matlab and has a GUI. The purpose of MemSim is to enable MEMS designers to create models from masks and masks from 3-D models. Please send e-mail if you are interested in MemSim0.91.
