Welcome to a sacred place to exercise the spirit. The labyrinth, like life, takes us on a journey. It is a path of meditation. A simple walking exercise. Sometimes we are close to the center; sometimes farther away. Sometimes the turns feel predictable. Sometimes they surprise us. On this path, we take no wrong turns, meet no dead ends. We learn to live where we are at any moment and yet always to have the opportunity to move to a new place on the journey.
Find out more about labyrinths, their history and spirituality here and here.
When we first designed our labyrinth, We thought traditionally. We conceived of the path as a journey to the center. whether close or far away, we were on the way to the center.
But the Divine dwells by the edges as well as at the center. At times the Spirit meets us in stable and balanced places. Other times, the encounter is sharp and raw. Some moments beckon us forward onto a path. In other moments, holy space invites us to stand still. Stone structures at the four directions evoke a Spirit that "blows where it will."
Our lives are constantly redefined and always changed as we travel the sacred path.
Guardians, gate-keepers, stones inviting
Shrine, cave, empty receptacle waiting
Sharp quills, light radiating
Balance, stability, strength towering
