Brownian Dynamics Analysis of Actin Filament Fluctuations:
The tension imparted to biological filaments when being trapped using dielectrophoresis is modulated by the
strength of the electric field. Using linear and nonlinear models and by studying the various phenomena at work, we can learn more about AC electrokinetics and
electrodynamics as well as biological polymer mechanics.
This movie shows fluorescently-labeled actin filaments (radius = 3.5 nm) being attracted to and spanning a
gap between two gold electrodes.
