My name is Meng Yang. I received my M.S.E. and B.S.E. degrees in Computer Science from University of Pennsylvania, with minors in Mathematics and Fine Arts. Prof. Norm Badler has been my advisor for both my undergrad and grad studies. My research interests are in interactive computer graphics and animation. A few topics include:
I just presented one of my latest research projects on A GPU-Based Approach for Real-Time Haptic Rendering of 3D Fluids at Siggraph Asia 2009 in Singapore. Check out the fastforward video. Currently I am working for Microsoft in Redmond, WA on next-generation graphical framework. My previous industry experience includes Software Engineer at Electronic Arts in Los Angeles, CA (Steven Spielberg's game project) and Senior Summer Analyst at Lehman Brothers in New York, NY (Fixed Income / Credit Analytics). Believe it or not, I used to be a hardcore gamer. My all-time favorite title is Diablo II Expansion: Lord of Destruction. I still think Diablo II is definitely one of the best games ever made (only secondary to mine sweeper...j/k) and even now I still play it once in a while casually. One of my ultimate goals is to start my own video game studio some day. |
