1. Notes

• The policies below attempt to provide fair access to the Facility's resources.
• We cannot cover all possible scenarios.
• Please be nice and share.

2. Definitions

• Prime Time Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 am to 9 pm (midnight for Elionix)
• Non-Prime Time Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 pm to 9 am AND all Weekends & Holidays
• Weekend: Friday 9 pm to Monday 9 am.
• Advance Reservation: reservation made before the beginning of the current Prime Time.

3. Basic Policies

• A safety buddy is mandatory when the lab is not staffed.
• You must make a reservation before using a tool.
• Please cancel your reservation as soon as you realize that you will not be able to use it. Please send an email to that tool's mailing list so that someone else may use the tool.
• If you are more than 15 minutes late you lose your reservation.
• Reservations must be separated by an integer number of reservation lengths. For example if the reservation length for a tool is 2 hours the next person must make a reservation immediately following the previous reservation or 2, 4, etc hours later. This applies to both Prime Time and Non-Prime Time Hours .

4. Time Horizon Policies

• A reservation can only be made up to a maximum number of days in advance (see table below).
• No time horizon limitations apply to users who manage tools (on the tools they manage).

5. Frequency Policies

1. Prime Time
• Users who manage tools may have TWO Advance Reservations per day on the tool(s) they manage.
• Users who do NOT manage any tools may not have more than ONE Advance Reservation per day per tool.
• Members of the same group may NOT have contiguous Advance Reservations.
• Starting at 9 am any available time blocks for the current Prime Time period may be reserved by anyone.
2. Non-Prime Time
• 9 am to 9 pm: any user may have up to two reservations per tool; they may be consecutive.
• 9 pm to 9 am: any user may reserve up to 12 hours/tool. Please share.
