Academic Interests

I am interested in various facets of Computer Science, some theoretical, some not so much. I have dabbled in quite a few fields, thanks to the wide variety of subjects I was exposed to during my undergraduate years.

Computer Architecture

This subject really caught my interest after I arrived at Penn and took my first proper course in Architecture and the fundamental concepts of chip design. I took CIS501, a course I highly recommend for any CIS student at Penn.

Natural Language Processing

A field that has interested me only by self-reading and some thought. It's amazing how much we take our language skills for granted. They are one of the hardest things to analyze. The quirks of one language differ vastly from those of others, and yet we can find a common base to almost all of them. Hmmmm...

Artifical Intelligence

Almost any gamer worth his salt has atleast a passing interest in AI. That's another thing I share in common with beer-chugging, mouse-clicking, avatar-fragging, button-pushing d00ds. But my interest is strictly superficial, at times philosophical. I have had many intelligent (or pseudo-intelligent) discussions with my friends (read: NPC's) about AI and Intelligence.
