    EXTENSION OF LICS-89 DEADLINE FOR PAPER SUBMISSION


     With the consent of the program committee, the deadline for submission
of papers for LICS-89 is extended to October 31, 1988 (firm) for receipt
of all submissions.  This should save at least some people the cost of
EXPRESS mail.  The revised version of the relevant portion from the call
for papers now goes as follows:


                       CALL FOR PAPERS

               Logic in Computer Science (LICS)
                  Fourth Annual Symposium
             June 5-8, 1989, Asilomar, California

Paper submission: 15 copies of a detailed abstract  (not a full paper)
should be  RECEIVED  by October 31, 1988 by the program chairman:
