Enhancement of Engineering Education: We believe that a unique resource of Tau Beta Pi is an active membership that all share a passion for engineering and a student perspective towards learning. We hope to encourage student members to use their gifts to (1) assist Penn underclassmen in mastering introductory engineering courses, and (2) excite elementary and high school students towards developing an interest in technical fields. Engineering has become an important discipline of study in today's society, and we hope to carry out the duty of facilitating its learning.

... and community service

Community Service plays a very important role in Tau Beta Pi, and our chapter here at the University of Pennsylvania is no exception. Over the years, our members have made it a point to devote some of their energies towards several community service projects. The last few years have seen our members giving free tutoring in engineering, physics, chemistry and mathematics. This has been done with both one-to-one and small group tutoring. Tau Beta Pi has also organized review sessions for several popular courses.  Our members have also been involved in volunteer activities at local homeless shelters and soup kitchens.
