Group HW for EMTM554 Class 2

Identify a current or potential data mining project at work which might form the basis for your final project.

Please email me (ungar@cis.upenn.edu) one copy per group, ccing all group members: (about two pages)

• Describe the problem you will address and the data you will use.
• What business decisions would be affected, and their importance.
• What sort of result do you expect?
• How will you evaluate your results? (be precise)
• What data (and meta data) would need to be collected.
• What do you have now?
• Any particular issues in data quality and data cleaning.
• Who are the stakeholders that should be involved? (by title or position)
• What database/warehouse would be (or is) used to store the data?
• Any other relevant issues (e.g., privacy, data ownership, ...)
• Do you plan to actually analyse data for the project, or just to describe what you would do if you had the dat.
