Electricity Load Forecasting Using the Support Vector Machine
teammates Adam Shabti Charles and Yuriy Novodvorskiy
mentored by Dr. Dale S. Kruchten
Demonstrated the advantages of the support vector machine over neural networks in the forecasting of two-day-ahead hourly electricity loads throughout New York State, achieving error bounds marginally lower than those of forecasts by the NY Independent Systems Operator despite considerably lower computational and informational overhead.
