I am starting my third year as a PhD student at UPenn, advised by Andreas Haeberlen and Jonathan M. Smith. My research is in networking, distributed systems, and security. For more details, please look at my CV.
When debugging distributed systems (e.g., SDNs), it is sometimes necessary to explain why did some expected event not occur - for instance, why a certain packet did not arrive. "Why not?" questions like this can be hard to answer. We develope negative provenance to explain missing events in distributed systems, and we build a debugger called Y! that can answer "Why not?" questions. Our work has been published at HotNets 2013 and SIGCOMM 2014.
