I am graduating this year, and currently on the job market.

Here are my Curriculum Vitae and Research Statement (last updated on February 2, 2012).

Short Biography

I am a sixth-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer and Information Science at the University of Pennsylvania, where I am a member of the database group and supervised by Prof. Susan B. Davidson. Before coming to Penn, I received my B.S.E. from the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in June 2006. I worked for two summers in 2010 and 2011 at IBM Research - Almanden as a research intern, mentored by Yunyao Li and Benny Kimelfeld.

I grew up in Shanghai, the largest city in China and one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world. Four years's undergradute study in Beijing also brought me a lot of good memory with this wonderful city. Now I have been living in Philadelphia with my wife, Mengmeng Liu, for five years. Life treats us well so far.

Research Interests

I am broadly interested in the areas of data management and information retrieval. My current research includes efficiently tracking data provenance in large-scale workflows, and spelling correction and query suggestion for enterprise search.
