How do I print AMSTeX files?

AMSTeX is a macro package similar to LaTeX. It defines a set of commands that are used to structure and format the document.

If there are no lines in the file to load the AMSTeX macros, information needs to be added. At the top of the file add:

\input amstex.tex

and run the file through TeX using:

tex sample.tex

Note: When the file is run through TeX, a DVI file is created. For further information, view the answers article How do I print and display tex, latex, dvi, and PostScript (ps) files?.
