Research Expertise: Point of Care Testing | Companion Diagnostics

In the last 10 years, Jinzhao Song has focused on developing next generation point-of-care (POC) diagnostic systems based on isothermal nucleic acid amplification; microfluidic chip that utilize smartphones for detection and analysis; and programmable enzymes. He has co-authored 30 peer-reviewed papers with H-index 16, 11 of which he was the lead author, and was named as co-inventor in one granted patent and four patent applications. The long-term goal of his research is to develop novel, low-cost medical diagnostic methods and devices, for infectious disease and cancer, to enable evidence-based, personalized medicine and early diagnosis in resource-limited settings.
