Penn Engineers propel scientific discovery, innovation and opportunity for all, and we do so by living our shared values every day. While Penn Engineering’s full Values Statement details these shared values for our community, this campaign brings those values to life, capturing them in three accessible guiding principles: Excellence, Respect and Impact.

Excellence speaks to our deep commitment to scholarship, creativity and rigor. It reflects our pursuit of the highest standards in teaching, research and innovation, which are grounded in honesty, integrity and continuous professional growth. Excellence is not only what we achieve, but how we achieve it, with purpose and accountability.
Respect defines our culture as an open and inclusive community. We welcome varied perspectives and foster a safe, respectful environment where ideas can be exchanged freely. Respect strengthens collaboration, builds trust and ensures that every member of our community feels valued and heard.
Impact underscores our responsibility as engineers and innovators. We are inventive and practical problem-solvers who consider the broader societal implications of our work. Living our values means working together to be a positive force, locally in Philadelphia, nationally and globally, all while advancing solutions that serve the public good.
